The long-smoked brisket was splendid, crusted with a blackened spice rub that sealed in moisture, which wept as the meat was sliced. It was every bit as good as you get in Texas.

Delaney’s brisket is as good as everyone says it is. There’s the clearly defined smoke ring, flavorful bark, and saltiness that defines great Texas barbecue.
Holy fucking shit. Eating here is like having some kind of unimaginably delicious meat form of tequila. You’ll be giddy and want to hug strangers from joy, maybe lick brisket grease off their bodies. Whoever described it as “meat candy” got it spot on.
