Head Chef

Delaney Barbecue, an award winning Brooklyn-based restaurant focusing on Southern food, is currently seeking a smart and talented chef to help us run our busy restaurant kitchen.

Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented with demonstrated culinary proficiency and an extensive experience in large volume production. If this sounds like you, then

In this role, your main responsibility is to:
• Manage the daily operations of our Brooklyn-based barbecue restaurant
• Other Duties & Responsibilities:
• Establishing menus and food pricing
• Purchasing and monitoring supplies
• Forecasting and estimating food and supplies costs
• Selection, training and supervision of kitchen staff
• Overseeing preparation of regular food items
• Preparation of advanced food items
• Ensuring consistency in food quality
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
• Encouraging safe work environment and habits at all times
• Accomplishing other duties as needed

Applicants must:
• Have at least 4 (Four) years of experience in a large, fast-paced New York kitchen
• Have extensive experience in working with American cuisine
• Have a flexible schedule
• Be willing to work nights, weekends or holidays at the restaurant
• Have a strong understanding of produce and sourcing that's local to the New York area
• Have an understanding of volume based production and organization
• Have the Ability to lead a team

**Culinary education is preferred.
